School Project Examples:
St Giles School, Croydon:
Two summer intensive projects. The first encouraged participation in a dance/visual arts/music collaboration for severely physically disabled secondary school students at St Giles School, with Visual Artist Caroline Broadhead, The second was an integrated project involving non-disabled sixth form students from The Brits School in collaborative work with St Giles Students, This project emphasised diversity in communities, and through a public performance, placed work by disabled students in a main stream education venue. Disabled and non-disabled teenagers formed working relationships and friendships, and awareness of potential was raised.
Tamworth/Lichfield Schools:
A series of workshops in Primary, Secondary and Special Schools in the West Midlands; The Willows Primary School, Lichfield, Wilmecote High School, Tamworth, Dosthill Junior School, Tamworth Quince Tree Special School, Tamworth.
Student tour to China:
An ambassadorial tour to China with 20 students from mainstream schools in Coventry and Roy, a 15-year-old boy with a learning disability. The project, funded by Coventry City Council led to a delegation to Jinan China to assist with developing policies on disability.
